A poll on CT News Junkie shows Connecticut residents are overwhelmingly in favor of liquor stores opening their doors on Sunday. In March, legislators debated the issue, considering if Connecticut should allow liquor sales on Sundays.
Currently, Connecticut is the only state in New England that prohibits the sales of alcohol on Sunday. But why is it so important to have them open? Don’t liquor store owners deserve a day off and can’t we, as consumers, plan ahead enough to buy our alcoholic beverages in advance of Sunday.
Have we become a society so accustomed to getting everything the very moment we want it that the thought of waiting one day makes us want to rewrite state law?
Or do we just really like beer?
To Drink, or Not to Drink.......

My question is "were liquor store owners polled also?" Government intrusion in all facets of our lives.....pathetic!
Let the owners decide how they would like to run their businesses....if some would like to open & others not.....it should be there decision...period!!
Personally, I prefer to drive to Sturbridge Mass. on a Sunday, shop, have lunch & buy my alcoholic beverages there.....it's less expensive & a nice day out.
I don't think liquor stores need to be open on Sundays. We have become very spoiled , and in a way selfish, expecting anything we need/want to be available at all times of the day or night. Liquor in not a necessity, and there is absolutely no reason people can't plan ahead re: making their liquor purchases.
